Mel's Spicy Chili Con Carne - added February 25, 2005
This is a great recipe for chili. The use of cinnamon gives it a really smooth taste - give it a try! for lots more recipes like this see our website.
Ingredients:
Blitz the onions and garlic in a Magimix food processor until finely chopped, then fry in a little olive oil until soft. Add the chili powder, fresh chili, cumin, and a little seasoning. Then add the minced meat and continue to cook, stirring until brown. Finely chop the sun-dried and add to the beef with the tin of tomatoes, cinnamon, and a cup of water.
Bring to a boil, cover with greaseproof paper and place the lid on top, turn the heat down to a simmer. Cook for 1 hour then adds the kidney beans.
This is great served with hot bread or rice.

Ingredients and Instructions:
In a large stock pot, combine all ingredients; bring to a boil. Simmer for at least 45 minutes.
Hint: The longer it simmers, the more tender the meat will be. Thicken with a mixture of water and cornstarch. Serve over steamed rice topped with cheese and warm flour tortillas.
Add the cooking oil to a skillet and heat. Add the ground beef and onion and cook until brown. In a saucepan add the tomato soup, kidney beans, water, and heat. Then add the ground beef and onions along with the chili powder, salt, pepper, and mushrooms. Simmer for 15 more minutes and serve. This chili recipe will serve 6.
In a large skillet saute the beef, garlic, onions, and green pepper until meat is browned and vegetables are tender (approx. 5 minutes). Drain the fat. Mix in the kidney beans, pork and beans, tomatoes, water, and chili powder. Bring to a boil, reduce heat and simmer for 5 minutes. This chili recipe makes 4 servings.
In a large skillet, brown the ground beef. Remove fat. Add onion and potato slices. Cook over medium heat until potatoes are lightly browned. Add green pepper, mushrooms, mixed vegetables, spaghetti sauce, tomatoes, water, and seasonings. Cover. Lower heat and simmer for 15 to 20 minutes or until vegetables are tender. This chili recipe serves 4.
Cook onion and green pepper in melted butter until lightly browned. Add ground beef and stir till beef is browned. Add tomatoes and other ingredients except for beans and simmer while covered for one hour. Uncover and cook 20 minutes longer. Add beans and heat thoroughly. This chili recipe serves 4.
In a large skillet add the ground beef, onion, and garlic, and cook until the meat is browned. Add seasoning, crushed tomatoes, chili powder, stewed tomatoes, kidney beans, and vinegar. Mix well and simmer for 1 to 2 hours. This chili recipe will serve 6 to 8. Uneaten portions may be frozen.
